Associate Director of the GMU Learning Agents Center (2002 to present)
Associate Director of the Learning Agents Center of George Mason University. The primary mission of the center is to conduct basic and applied research on the theory and practice of agents development for complex real-world problems, based on learning agent technology. The Center also supports teaching in the areas of intelligent agents, machine learning, knowledge acquisition, expert systems, natural language processing, intelligent tutoring systems, and artificial intelligence. The Learning Agents Center has received significant research support and is a leader in the area of instructable agents, with important accomplishments (see http://lac.gmu.edu/).
Dr. Boicu’s main responsibilities include: participating in the research proposals preparation, managing active projects, coordinating the software development activities, testing student candidates, preparing research presentations, collaboration meetings and other administrative tasks.
Member of the Graduate Committee of the Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering (2008-present)
Dr. Boicu is member of the Graduate Committee of the Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering. His main duties are: participate at the committee meetings, review of the graduate course proposals and review of the graduate programs proposals.
